Freya Wynn-Jones is a director, singer and animateur working across a wide range of professional, educational and community settings. With a particular interest in the relationship between theatre and vocal art, Freya works on numerous collaborations to write, compose and devise new work.

Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus at The Southbank Centre
As part of refugee week, Freya has been working with the ROH TCC team to select repertoire and plan a programme for performance to create a short dramatic program for the community chorus exploring themes of refugee, migration and generation.

Garsington Opera: Opera First Devising Project
Freya returns to Great Missenden to do a two day devising project with secondary students based on the Garsington production of Fantasio.

Royal Opera House Thurrock Community Chorus - Open Up Performance
Inspired by Barry Kosky's production of Carmen, the ROH TCC will be performing at Covent Garden in one of the new Open Up performance spaces. Freya is newly engaged on this project to stage the community chorus' work.

Snappy Opera - Leicester
Freya returns to work with Mahogany Opera to deliver a Snappy Opera Project for the third year. Working with this award-winning organisation to stage five ten-minute operas across schools which will be performed at The Nottingham Playhouse in July. This year Freya is also developing and delivering the artists and teachers training that is to accompany Mahogany's Snappy work moving forward.

ENO Baylis - Noye's Fludde project
Working with schools around London, Freya will be working alongside ENO's Baylis Team to explore the themes of Britten's Opera Noye's Fludde.

Streetwise Opera Residency: Royal Opera House
Directing, devising and exploring stage craft with Streetwise Opera's London group in response to Barrie Kosky's production of Carmen. Running over several weeks, the project will culminate with a sharing in the Paul Hamlyn Hall on 2 August.

Choir With No Name Anniversary Gig: All Saints Church, Hove
Celebrating one year of the Choir With No Name coming to Brighton, we will be singing our hearts out to some top tunes at the wonderful venue All Saints Church.

Under One Roof R&D: Filament Theatre
Working alongside the wonderful Filament Theatre to R&D their revisit of production Under One Roof. Freya returns to this choral theatre company as a performer.

Not Drowning But Waving: RAPT (Choir With No Name Music Director)
Co-commissioned by University College London Culture, this new RAPT project will begin R&D in June 2019. Through key autobiographical stories, we take a coastal tour of the UK exploring the notion of staying afloat and 'tipping points' across socio-cultural and scientific domains with academics, journalists, communities and individuals.
Singers from The Choir With No Name, Brighton are being offered the chance to participate in this project, using their own words to sing newly composed sea shanties about the changing landscape of their coastal community. Working alongside composer James Redwood and Director Emma Higham, Freya will be coming on board as choir director for this project.

Family Day: Journey to the Moon : The Wigmore Hall
Find your space boots and get ready for a musical adventure to the moon! To celebrate 50 years since the first moon landing, families are invited to join professional musicians and artists in this interactive day of workshops. You can expect singing, prop-making, movement and drama, so come prepared for an energetic day! Recommended for families with children aged 7-12.

Raise Your Voice - Glyndebourne
Freya will be returning to Raise Your Voice once again this Autumn. Raise Your Voice is an opera project for local people living with dementia and their carers run by Glyndebourne's education department. We have been running this unique project since 2008.

Freya runs the Brighton branch of Choir With No Name, which opened in the summer of 2018. The choir is open to people who have experienced homelessness and other marginalised groups.

Since 2016, Freya has run the Voicings Collective, interrogating the democracy of devising to create new works of classical music-theatre.
